Northwoods Harvest Supper $
Friday, September 23, 5:30 pm Social Hour and 6:00 pm Supper
Start off the Leaf it to Rusk weekend with a wonderful meal of harvest foods, view handmade quilts and hear an interesting presentation by Kathleen Heart, owner of Heartlight Quilt Shop, “Quilting with Feedsacks – the beginning of recycling on a large scale!” Find out how the simple flour and sugar sacks from the 1920’s forward became an indispensable part of American life. AmericInn Motel & Suites, 800 W. College Ave. Owner, Sue Keimig is an avid quilter – see her quilts displayed in the motel lobby.

Rusk County Airport Fly-In & Pancake Feed $

Start a busy day of activities with a hearty breakfast at the Rusk County Airport. Fly or drive – everyone welcome! Meet pilots and learn about their planes and flying adventures. Pilots eat free.
Biggest Farmers Market of the Season

Indianhead Transit (ITS Bus) Free Ladysmith Area Tours and Free rides to Christie Mountain
Ladysmith Area Tours
Saturday, September 24 at 9 am, 10 am, and 11 am.
Tours leave from Rusk County Visitor Center, 205 W 9th St South
Sights to see on the Ladysmith Tour will include: Reclaimed Flambeau Mine, Indeck, Farmers Market, Rusk County Historical Society, Rusk County Airport & Dairyland Flowage, Mount Senario Art Gallery, and more. This will be a narrated tour…you can get off at one of the Leaf it to Rusk events and get on the next tour bus an hour later.
Ride to Christie Mountain
Saturday & Sunday, September 24 & 25
Indianhead Transit Bus will leave the parking lot at Citgo (on Hwy 8) at noon and return from Christie Mtn. at 3 pm. You will have time at Christie Mtn.to ride the chairlift and view the fall colors, see the artist exhibits, participate in the Art Harvest activities, see the Police and Fire Dept. displays, and just enjoy the scenery. Bob Wiltrout will be there both days with two telescopes w/filters to view sunspots and solar flares. Note: only one trip each day to Christie Mountain.
Felsenmeer Guided Lunch Hike $
Saturday, September 24, 11 am
Enjoy the unique beauty of the Blue Hills with the Felsenmeer Lunch hike. This will be a four mile, round trip guided hike. The Blue Hills Felsenmeer is a fractured rock formation that was created at the time of the last glaciation. The area’s unique geology and plant species qualifies it as a Wisconsin State Natural Area. This is a strenuous hike and requires appropriate hiking footwear. Rain or Shine. Prior registration and payment ($10) required by September 20. No refunds after September 20. Meet at the former Weyerhaeuser High School parking lot. $10.00/per person
Ladysmith Community Garage Sale
Saturday, September 24, 8 am – 4 pm
Do you have something you need to get rid of and don’t want to throw away? Those interested in having a garage sale are encouraged to call the Rusk County Recycling Dept. no later than September 14 to be put on a map that will list all the garage sales in the Ladysmith area. Maps will be available at the Rusk County Visitor Center and City Hall the week of September 19. There is no cost to you to be put on the map. Rusk County Historical Museum Open House
Saturday, September 24, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Learn about the rich history of Rusk County. There are a wide variety of displays including logging history, antique farm machinery, rail history, WW I & II artifacts, antiques, medical exhibits, Little Red Schoolhouse and Log Cabin. Located at the Rusk County fairgrounds in Ladysmith.
Christie Mountain Fall Color Chairlift Rides $
Saturday & Sunday, September 24 & 25
Experience breathtaking views of the Blue Hills on the chairlift rides, view and purchase artists’ works, enjoy a light lunch, participate in Art Harvest craft activities and much more.
- • 5R Processors will have a Free countywide electronics recycling on site. Local Police and Fire Dept. demonstrations, view their all-terrain vehicle and much more.

Downtown Ladysmith Car Show
Saturday, September 24, 1:00 – 5:00 pm
Take in the car show on Miner Ave. in Ladysmith. Dash Plaques with a People’s Choice Award. Music, Food, 50/50 Drawing, Door Prizes. While viewing classic and unique cars, stop in at the many shops of the downtown area.
Rusk County 4-H Green & White Day $

Chicken Dinner – serving 3 pm to 6 pm. ¼ chicken dinner - $7.00; ½ chicken dinner - $8.00 Silent Auction & Bake Sale on site. Pie & Cake Auction to start at 5 pm. $
Skate Boarding Competition
Saturday, September 24
Skate Park in Ladysmith, Worden & 1st St.
Registration begins at noon with competition starting at 1:00 pm. Competition is open to anyone from beginner to pro. Persons under age 18 must have a release form signed by a parent at the event. Food and prizes.

History of Railroads in Rusk County
Sunday, September 25, 1:00 pm
Rusk County Visitor Center, 205 W 9th St South, Ladysmith
John Terrill will take us back in time to learn the rich history of the SOO Line in WI Central Railroads. He will also include a history of railroad equipment including Old Smokey, which has been on display in Ladysmith for 50 years. You will also have time to view the many railroad displays housed in the Visitor Center.
Our Lady of Sorrows Fall Dinner $
